Skincare Is A Lifestyle

Skincare Is A Lifestyle

First of all, welcome everyone! I've always wanted to write a blog, so here goes. This is going to be a journey into the world of skincare and everything I associate with it. From a young age I've learnt a lot about taking care of my skin, and over time, I've come to appreciate the benefits that nature has to offer.

What is a lifestyle?

A lifestyle is defined by the way in which a person lives. So skincare should definitely be apart of that. Having the correct lifestyle can massively help improve our health.

What else can I do?

Here are just 5 things to get us all started in creating our healthier lifestyle.

1. Sleep: It is so important to get the right level of sleep to help recharge the body and mind.

2. Exercise: Balance is key here but it can help the body remove toxins from within.

3. Drink water: Now you don't need to drown yourself with it, but are you drinking the right amount of water and is your body absorbing it correctly? Don't worry, I'll be doing a separate post just on this later on.

4. Take time out: I'm sure by now you've heard of manifestation. Well, you may want to take time to read, pray, meditate, give thanks. There are no right or wrongs here. It's just about being thankful.

5. Spend time with friends and family: This can be so beneficial when surrounded with positivity. Being happy is so good for us, you'd be surprised how much it can improve our health.

Obviously there are a lot of other things that can be done such as healthy eating habits. I just wanted to pick five, I'm not saying these are more or less important than things not on the list.

What would you not do?

I was asked this the other day and the catch was I could only pick one thing.

My answer: Don't smoke

Smoking actually narrows the tiny blood vessels in the outermost layers of the skin, which decreases blood flow and makes skin paler. This will also deplete the skin of oxygen and nutrients that are extremely important to skin health. Smoking will also damage collagen and elastin. If you do smoke, the best thing for your skin is to quit. Ask your doctor for tips or treatments to help you stop smoking.

Skinvestment

Investing in your skin is something we should all be doing. regardless of age. Your skin will thank you later (you'll also be thanking yourself). Remember your skin is going to be representing you all of your life. This will be one of the best lifestyle investments you make if you start looking after it now.

The goal is not perfect skin, the goal is healthy skin. Healthy skin needs a healthy you. Healthy you needs a healthy lifestyle. Start today and make your skincare a lifestyle.
